Happy thanksgiving

I feel like today was a specially good thanksgiving.

Tim, Ben, and I woke up and met our friends for coffee to have a bit of a Friendsgiving of our own before everyone escaped to carb-land with their families. As we were sitting at our table, a couple of girls started arranging a table and said that their dad was going to propose to his girlfriend at the very spot where they met. They scattered rose petals, got a hot chocolate mug with the words 'Marry Me?" written on it, and hid waiting for the moment to happen.

Us, being the nosey incredibly helpful people we are, took pictures and video of them so they could have it forever.

It was nothing short of a Nora Ephron movie, we all teared up, and of course, she said YES!

After we came home I put Ben down for a nap, when I came back to the room I found Lio sleeping with him like this. You would think it's no big deal, but what you don't know is that the poor cat has had a heck of a time adjusting to the new baby. He stopped grooming himself and started peeing outside of his litterbox {sorry, gross}, and just being a drama queen in general.

But today this happened. Tim and I stood by the door marveling at this thanksgiving miracle, crossing our fingers hoping that Lio has turned a page and allowed Ben into his heart... or at least this house.

Tim and I decided to spend this holiday at home, just the three of us, and try our hand at making thanksgiving dinner ourselves. I have never cooked a turkey in my 31 years of life so I turned to the place that never fails to provide me with information and entertainment alike - Twitter.

{{Wendi}} was kind enough to scan and email me recipes upon recipes, and Natasha posted a {{step by step guide to avoiding a festive failure}} just in time for me to read it. I also turned to Sunny, my beloved mother on this hemisphere, whose deliciously tender turkeys I have eaten for the past decade, and you know what? I pulled it off!

I feel like such a grown up! Check me out making my thanksgiving dinners from scratch! Tim and I high fived each other at least 10 times congratulating each other.

See? It was a particularly good thanksgiving.
I am grateful and thankful for so many things, but most of all, I am thankful for these two goofs. They are the light of my life and I love them so!

Happy thanksgiving! May your day be sweet as pie.
