Talkeetna: Where 3 rivers meet

Over the 4th of July weekend Tim, Les, and I headed north to Talkeetna. We stayed at the {{Denali Overlook Inn}}, a quaint bed and breakfast that was as comfortable as it was beautiful.
After leaving our belongings at the inn, we headed downtown for some coffee.

After some inspection of the town we found ways to amuse ourselves including Talkeetna's version of Monopoly, the Denali-Opoly, of which Les was the queen since she managed to achieve a net worth of over $3 million. Quite the business woman she turned out!

The next morning we dressed ourselves in full on Zissou outfits and took the train to Chase from where we leisurely rafted the Susitna {sand island river}, Chulitna {river of big leave trees}, and Talkeetna  {river of plenty} rivers that converge to form the Big Susitna Drainage. {Pro tip: When in the river, keep your phone away from the water, cough, cough, Leslie. Ahem.}
Spruce, birch, and cottonwood trees, along with gorgeous fireweed accompanied us along the river bank. I will never stop being amazed at the beauty of this state!

And of course what kind of road trip would this be if we did not eat to our heart's content?

If you guys have not been I recommend you stop by.
There is beauty to be seen, awesome people to meet, and yummy food to be eaten.

See you soon Talkeetna!!
