Love what you do

{via}

Tim and I work in industries that are constantly changing. There is so much in architecture, design, and construction that continuously evolves and keeps us on our toes, and is this eternal morphing that renews us and is one of the reasons why we love what we do.
One of the biggest factors that constantly changes is the ebb and flow of our workload depending on the economy and the time of year. We both agree that when we have work to do, we work happily and without complaint because you never know what's around the corner.
February has quickly become the busiest month I remember having. It coincided that both of us are working extra hours, Tim isn't home until past 11 P.M. and hasn't had 2 days of rest in row for a few weeks now. My desk is a battle zone, and sometimes when I come back to my office after a meeting I find a sandwich and a bag of chips that Tim has left for me to eat since we haven't cooked a meal at home in a while.
It isn't always this way.
Most months we are just your average citizen working average hours, but when crazy happens, when all we have time for is a goodnight kiss, when exhaustion sets in to the fullest extent of the word in our worn out bodies, even then we don't mind because we love what we do and that makes all the difference.
Cheesy as it may sound let what you love be what you do, because if at the end of the day you'd still do it all over again, then every minute is worth it.

  2. I'm having trouble figuring out what thy is for me exactly. I think the hardest thing in the world isn't finding love, or a decent living, or find adventure, or even god. That's pretty easy actually. The hardest thing in the world is findin something worth doing. Something believe is 'great work'. That's not just something that's 'great' to do but is also innately great, it matters, to somebody, to yourself, maybe to everyone.

    I'm finding it hard to see what it is I can do that ticks enough of these boxes that I consider it 'great' enough to pursue. I've decided therefore to try them all. Who knows what may happen tomorrow.
